日本旅Spirited Away in Japan Episode 8

果然....廣播有在三點多的時候放送. 其實那一整晚我對不是睡得太好. 1. 風超大聲吵到我半睡半醒的把窗戶給關了起來. 2. Ed的打呼聲好吵.... 3. Joran說夢話(荷蘭文)....

大家起來時, 我對他們兩位酸了一下可是Ed反而說我也有打呼只不過沒有一直打就是了. 今天早餐時, 我很識相的帶了我的相機拍我們的營養早餐.

早餐/breakfast

早餐有美式炒蛋和香腸. 日式和美式混在一起其實還滿搭配的. 煎魚的油脂感剛好符合我的口味, 尤其是早餐時我並不特別喜歡吃油油的東西. 醃生烏賊就...口味還滿重的. 我想一般台灣人是不會喜歡那種獨特的腥味. 我稍微看了一下其他人的生烏賊結果發現他們幾乎都沒吃完, 這種口味可能真的不合白人的胃口吧. 早餐還有附一片海苔而且還是白色的耶. 吃起來比一般的海苔還更要有厚度和口感.

當天考古的工作跟昨天差不多. 我早上都是在專門剪/鉅樹根. 我們今天挖到了一個魚骨層, 真的出了魚骨以外什麼都沒有的層次. 我還滿意外當我們在挖時, 我一眼就認出那些骨頭是魚骨, 大學學到的東西果然還是稍微有一點用.再挖的同是我們也在討論一些其他的話題, 像是電影啦, 女生, 男生, 八卦之類的東西. 我聽到有人說: "......動物........爪子........金屬....." 我就說: "你們是在說金鋼狼嗎?" 結果當然不是在說金鋼狼 哈哈哈. 今天的午餐跟昨天一樣只不過多了一個漢堡. 我看其他人好像都滿喜歡吃沙拉的.....我對沙拉真的一點興趣都沒有啊! 根據我的日記, 我們那一天下午的進度跟早上一樣並沒有什麼特別的發現/發展.

我們那天大概4點半結束, 我一回到旅館就找了其他人跟我一起去雜貨店買冰吃. 除了持的以外, 我還買了一本小筆記本, 我想說可以用來紀錄一些東西. 我買完東西回房間發呆時, 加藤老師走進來問我說我們房間有幾個人? 我說連我在內有3個人. 他說了一聲喔完就走了. 奇怪,問那個是要怎樣? 不久後, 有一位高高的白人走進來說它是我們的新室友. 他叫Sean留著一個大光頭.

當天晚餐是義大利麵. 我看到時都傻了. 為甚麼我在日本還要吃甚麼義大利麵啊? 這我在溫哥華就吃得到了! 可是配菜還是日本料理 哈! 我當時是用筷子吃義大利麵因為我覺得吃麵用筷子吃可以比較快. 大概6,7個月後我才從陳小姐哪裡聽到當時老闆娘看我用筷子吃義大利麵還給了我一個眼神. 我吃完晚餐的時候, 我正是發現我在20多人中, 我果然是吃最快的接下來大概是Seung-wan. 我跟他兩個算是哪裡食量比較大的. 我把我們兩個人比喻成禿鷹, 到處問旁邊的人有沒有要不喜歡吃的東西我可以免費幫她解決掉.

Dinner/晚餐

晚餐後, 我跟陳小姐在他房間裡聊天. 我們聊到田野活動完後的計畫. 很巧的事她也會繼續留在北海道一直到8約14號. 我跟她說那她願不願意跟我一起去北海道其他地方. 他說好, 於是我開始跟他討論一些行程的話題. 我在洗澡時發現我的皮膚真的接觸到水就會有刺痛的感覺而且還發紅. 啊, 這就是所謂的曬傷吧?

回房間睡覺時, Sean已經都整理好他的位置了, 突然發現我們的房間還真的滿小的.....多了一個人還真是差很多. 我真的不想在3點聽到廣播所以我把3層玻璃全都給關了起來. 好累喔.

We finally started digging!

Of course, there was the broadcast again....It wasn't like I had a good night of sleep anyway. 1. The wind was so loud and I had to close the window while being half asleep. 2. Ed got some epic snores.  3. Joran was sleep talking in Dutch.

I complained these to them and Ed said I was snoring too but wasn't very loud. Joran had no idea what he said.

At breakfast, I remembered to bring my camera because I just wanted to take pictures of these beautiful meals. We had scrambled egg with sausage plus the typical Japanese style breakfast. I think the raw marinated squid's flavor might had been too much for most people from the dig. As for the rest of the meal, I was very happy with it since this is what I picture for a perfect breakfast.

海苔/Seaweed

We started the dig at the same time as the day before. I was cutting roots in the early morning and it wasn't very pleasant at all. We started finding a lot of shells but it wasn't anything to be overly excited about. We then reached a layer of fish bones. I was somewhat surprised that I could identify those bones right away and that I actually remembered what I learned in school. I found a femur which mostly likely belonged to a rodent but besides that the digging was at a snail's pace. During digging, we also talked about random topics like someone was talking about animals, metal, and claws. So I said, "Wait, is someone talking about Wolverine?" We also said a lot of random things which I will cover in the future entries. As for our lunch that day, we had a croquet burger with salad. I....am just not a big fan of salad. The others seemed to love it though. Seung-wan pretty much eats anything hahahaha. According to my diary, the afternoon dig wasn't anything spectacular and we finished it at 4:30.

I went to the grocery store after the dig and this time I bought popsicles and some koala candies. I gave some koala candies to Jess and she seemed to love it. When I got back to my room and was daydreaming, Kato sensei walked in and asked how many of us sleep in the room. I said 3 and he nodded and started saying, "Oh....ok, ok." I was like that was weird but few minutes later, a bald guy walked in and said he was going to be our new roommate. The guy's name is Sean and he graduated from McGill University.

We had pasta for dinner and I was a little disappointed by that since I was expecting an awesome seafood fest. We still had some side dishes but our main meal was pasta. I was using chopsticks while eating pasta and back then I didn't know hotel owner's wife was giving me a look because of that(I learned it from Chen 6,7 months later). It was at that dinner when I realized that I was the fastest eater in the group. Like I ate really fast and I usually took people's food too. Speaking of taking people's food, Seung-wan and I were like vultures, just asking people if they were going to finish their food hahaha.

After dinner, I was talking to Chen in her room about our plans after the dig. She told me she was going to travel around Hokkaido so I asked her if I could tag along. She said sure so we began talking about our plans. When I was taking shower, I realized I had a sunburn. The part of the skin that got effected were bright red and they burned really bad when they were exposed to hot water. Looked like I underestimated the power of the sun.

When bed time came, I thought my room looked really really small. One more person did make a big difference. I was dead tired and I did NOT want to be waken up by the damn broadcast again so I closed the 3 layers of window and went to bed....well, more like lying on my futon.
